ABOUT US
Because the Golden Retriever breed was first developed in Scotland, I
decided on a Scottish theme in my choice of name for my kennels
.
INNISCROFT
Innis: meaning Island and Croft: a small
farm............we were living on Waiheke Island on a small acreage at
the time [1993] we purchased our first Golden Retriever.
Polly,
or Charterhall Pavlova lives on today at Inniscroft through her daughter
Angel and her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
In 2002 we
moved back down to the South Island of New Zealand to Christchurch which
was my home city.
Our dogs over the last fifteen years have given us triumphs and tears,
joys and sorrows as anyone who has enjoyed the company of animals will
understand. We have enjoyed getting to know and love new arrivals and
wept as we said goodbye to the elderly or ill who have come to the end
of their lives......... or the dogs we have loved and lived with who
depart for new homes in far away places.
In the last three years
we have spent several months of the year in Italy. At first this looked
as though we would be retiring from showing and breeding.
Hopefully
though, with lots of help from friends we will be able to do a little
of both during the months we are at home.
We had attended a few
shows in Europe and seen some beautiful Goldens [and equally delightful
owners] and envy the choice of breeding stock there is available there.
We
do not know for sure what the future will hold for us, but hopefully
something exciting is in the pipeline.
